Meadow Garden Malamutes - A Portrait (7/8): Zero Star Terreno

Writer's picture: TinaTina

To mark this special occasion, we continue our eight-part portrait series and proudly present our birthday boy: Zero Star Terreno – brand-new dad and forever the cheeky youngster of Cathi's Meadow Garden.

Two weeks ago, we introduced you to the C-litter puppies of our "Catwalk" Litter. Since we also celebrated the birthday of their father yesterday, it’s only fitting that we honor him in our little portrait series.

Zero Star Terreno

He was the last of the five founding members to join the Meadow Garden pack. After a long journey, he arrived in the Black Forest on April 23, 2022. With his charming and mischievous personality, he quickly won our hearts – whether through his gentle nibbling antics or his signature Malamute smile.

Our Sweet but Cheeky Monkey

Born on December 31, 2021, in Grodno, Belarus, Zero stirred things up as the young cub of his new pack in the Neckar Valley. But it’s impossible to stay mad at this teddy bear for long – at least for the humans.

As part of our breeding philosophy, we prioritize preserving the versatility and health of Alaskan Malamutes. Zero perfectly embodies these values through his temperament and lineage. Now, he has passed on his traits to our "Catwalk" Litter. With such a diva as his mate, the litter’s name couldn’t be more fitting – and here’s why.

You can find Zero’s pedigree, including links, in his profile on our Meadow Garden Malamutes page.

A True Star and Champion

From the very beginning, Zero Star Terreno lived up to his name. He demonstrated his talent in the show ring early on. After successful showings in Offenburg and Aarau, he proudly earned the title Alpine Junior Champion. Judges in Aarau praised his "confident demeanor" and "perfect movement," awarding him a V1 rating and points toward the Swiss and International Junior Beauty Champion titles.

But Zero is not just a showstopper in the ring. He also displays his full strength in front of the sled. His exceptional energy and powerful movement make him an indispensable part of our team. When Zero runs, it’s with the determination of a steam locomotive ready to take on any challenge.

An Unstoppable Steam Locomotive

Zero is a true powerhouse in harness, taking his pulling duties very seriously. While he might let Nukka, Lumi, and Mini get away with playful antics in the yard, he makes sure they keep up when it’s time to work. And if they don’t, they’ll hear about it! Zero loves to please his humans and "falls in line" even when he doesn’t feel like it. Of course, he makes his displeasure known with a good grumble – but he still does what’s asked of him (though he might sneak in a quick nip to your arm as a cheeky protest).

Whether as a star in the ring, a steam engine on the sled, or simply a loving companion, Zero Star Terreno is a true treasure of the Meadow Gardens. His story shows just how special every Malamute is and how much joy he brings to our kennel.

The eyes of his two puppies are already open, and soon we’ll have an update on them to share with you. Don’t want to miss it? Scroll down and subscribe to our blog!
